- 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, vanilla extract, and egg; add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in strawberries.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface; shape into an 8-inch circle and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut chilled dough into triangles and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet; brush tops with milk.
- Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden brown and let cool on a wire rack before glazing.
