- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 8 ounces fresh strawberries (hulled and chopped)
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- the juice of half of a lemon (about 2 Tablespoons)
- zest of one lemon
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for glaze)
- the juice of half of a lemon (about 2 Tablespoons, for glaze)
- 2 Tablespoons warm water (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine chopped strawberries, milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and zest.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients; stir gently until just combined.
- Transfer batter to the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cooling, mix granulated sugar with lemon juice and warm water for the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled bread before slicing.
