Ingredients
- 2 lb thinly sliced sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
- 12 oz frozen broccoli florets
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips if not pre-sliced.
- In a mixing bowl, combine beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic; stir well.
- Place the sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it evenly.
- Cover and cook on low heat for about 5–6 hours until the beef is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry; stir into the crock pot to thicken the sauce. Add frozen broccoli florets during this last half hour of cooking.
- Serve over cooked white rice if desired.
