Ingredients
- 8 oz flank, skirt, or sirloin steak (thinly sliced)
- 2 (7 oz) packs cooked or frozen udon noodles
- 1 tbsp vegetable or avocado oil
- ½ small onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- Optional toppings: sliced scallions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Slice the beef thinly and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry; set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef until browned; remove from pan.
- Sauté garlic and onion in the same skillet until fragrant.
- Add udon noodles and sauce to the skillet; toss to combine and heat through for about 2–3 minutes.
- Return beef to the pan; mix everything together until heated and coated with sauce. Serve immediately with optional toppings.
