  3. In another bowl, blend the mashed bananas with sugar until smooth.
  4. Add in the egg and vegetable oil; mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and ½ cup of Nutella until smooth.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Spoon the batter into muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full. Swirl in additional Nutella if you like.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
