- 6 large eggs
- 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
- 1 (14 oz) can condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
- Hot water (for the water bath)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until golden brown to create the caramel. Quickly pour it into a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place this dish inside a larger pan filled with hot water and bake for about 50 minutes or until set.
- Cool at room temperature then refrigerate for at least four hours before serving.
