Ingredients
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 1/4 tsp Instant Yeast
- 1 1/4 cups Cold Whole Milk (or lactose-free)
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter (kept cold)
- 16 pieces Chocolate Batons or Semi-Sweet Chocolate
- Confectioners’ Sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually mix in cold milk until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and encase cold butter within it by folding the sides over.
- Roll out the dough again and fold into thirds; chill for at least one hour. Repeat this rolling and folding process two more times.
- Roll out one last time to cut triangles for shaping croissants with chocolate at the base.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake croissants on parchment-lined baking sheets for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
