Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually mix in cold milk until a dough forms.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and encase cold butter within it by folding the sides over.
  4. Roll out the dough again and fold into thirds; chill for at least one hour. Repeat this rolling and folding process two more times.
  5. Roll out one last time to cut triangles for shaping croissants with chocolate at the base.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake croissants on parchment-lined baking sheets for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
