Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8-by-8-inch pan with aluminum foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Melt butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl (about 60 seconds). Stir in brown sugar until combined.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually incorporate flour until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips and cherries. Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 27 to 32 minutes, or until edges slightly pull away from the pan.
- Let cool for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
