Ingredients
- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole-rolled old-fashioned oats
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 35 caramel squares
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with aluminum foil.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and then whisk in brown sugar and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- Press half of the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine caramel squares and heavy cream. Microwave in bursts until melted and smooth.
- Remove the base from the oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips, pour caramel over them, then crumble remaining oat mixture on top.
- Bake for an additional 15 to 18 minutes until golden edges form.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
