Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cup cake flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup filling (red bean paste, Nutella, custard, cheese, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cake flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg and then add in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  4. Preheat your taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly grease it if necessary.
