Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a 10-inch bundt pan.
- In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition along with vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with milk until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 75-85 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add zest if desired.
- If glaze is too thick, add more milk one teaspoon at a time until it reaches drizzle consistency.
- Once cake has cooled completely, drizzle the glaze over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
