Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
- 10 small taco shells (flour or corn)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- ½ cup red onion, diced
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef or turkey, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce; simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Fill each taco shell with the meat mixture and sprinkle generously with cheese. Arrange them in the baking dish.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tacos are crispy.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onions, and fresh cilantro before serving.
