  • 8 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup honey, warmed
  • 16 oz sour cream, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon fine salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, frozen
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and baking soda. In another bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add warmed honey and sour cream; blend well.
  2. Combine both mixtures until smooth; add vinegar and salt.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Roll out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick and cut into strips for braiding.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place braided dough in a greased baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. For the frosting, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth; fold in Cool Whip. Spread over cooled babka.
