Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard, optional
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the steak with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak pieces for 2–3 minutes until browned. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds. Stir in flour and cook for one minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in milk and beef broth until smooth, then mix in cheddar cheese until creamy.
- Cook tortellini according to package directions but slightly undercook; drain and toss with olive oil.
- Grease a baking dish and combine tortellini, seared steak, and cheese sauce in it. Top with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
