- 1 pound fresh crab meat
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 loaf French baguette, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- If using fresh crabs, steam them for about 10 minutes until bright red. Cool and extract the meat carefully, ensuring no shell pieces remain.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
- In a large bowl, combine crab meat, melted garlic butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to keep crab intact.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil on both sides.
- Toast baguette slices in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
- Top each slice with the crab mixture and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
