Instructions

  1. If using fresh crabs, steam them for about 10 minutes until bright red. Cool and extract the meat carefully, ensuring no shell pieces remain.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine crab meat, melted garlic butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to keep crab intact.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil on both sides.
  5. Toast baguette slices in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Top each slice with the crab mixture and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
