  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (divided)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter with granulated sugar, then mix until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in half of the crushed peppermint candies and chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle remaining crushed peppermint on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow brownies to cool completely before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and enjoy!
