- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 12 oz evaporated milk
- 1 3/4 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 5 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a roasting pan with boiling water.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water to make caramel; cook until golden brown.
- Pour caramel into a non-stick cake pan and set aside.
- Blend together condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream, vanilla, eggs, and salt until smooth; pour over caramel.
- Cover the pan with foil and place it in the water bath; bake for 70-80 minutes until just set.
- Allow cooling at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- To serve, invert the flan onto a platter and garnish with berries if desired.
