- 1 lb fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
Instructions
- Wash and slice the strawberries, removing the stems.
- In a medium-sized pot, combine half of the sliced strawberries with sugar and lemon juice, stirring gently.
- Heat over medium-low until it begins to boil; cook for about 5 minutes until the strawberries start breaking down.
- Add the remaining sliced strawberries and cook for an additional 2 minutes while stirring.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring to a mason jar for storage.
