Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise; season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Stir in flour continuously until golden to create a roux.
- Gradually add chicken broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Mix in remaining seasonings.
- Once bubbling, add seasoned chicken to the skillet, cover with a lid, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for 12-15 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
- Shred the chicken in the skillet or transfer to a plate; serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
