  • Total Time: 0 hours
  • Yield: Approximately 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 (21 oz) can premium cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tsp almond extract (for glaze)
  • ½ tsp vanilla (for glaze)
  • Milk as needed (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the room temperature eggs, almond extract, and vanilla extract; mix until creamy.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  5. Press half of the dough evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  6. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the dough.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough on top of the cherry filling; it’s okay if it doesn’t cover completely.
  8. Bake for about 35–40 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  9. Cool completely before drizzling with glaze made from confectioners’ sugar, almond extract, vanilla, and milk to reach desired consistency.
