- 2 pounds meat (chicken, beef, lamb) or veggies
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 lemon (juiced)
- 3 cloves garlic (smashed)
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¾ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¾ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¾ teaspoon ground turmeric
- optional: up to ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- kosher salt and ground black pepper to season
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl or jar, combine olive oil, lemon juice, smashed garlic, honey, cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, ginger, oregano, turmeric. If desired, add cayenne pepper along with salt and pepper.
- Mix well using a whisk or shake the jar until you achieve a thick paste.
- Pour the marinade over your choice of protein or veggies ensuring they are fully coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or up to 2 days before cooking.
- Grill, bake, or sauté as desired and enjoy!
