Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts, diced
- 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Begin by preparing your ingredients: dice the chicken and chop the turkey bacon into small pieces. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the diced chicken and cook until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over the sautéed vegetables and stir well to combine. Gradually add chicken broth while stirring continuously until smooth; allow it to thicken slightly.
- Return the cooked chicken (and turkey bacon) to the skillet and gently combine everything so that the chicken is coated in the creamy sauce.
- Serve hot alongside garlic naan, rice, or crispy fries.
