- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; stir in vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry mixture alternately with milk until just combined.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before preparing the caramel sauce by melting brown sugar, butter, and cream in a saucepan until thickened.
- Assemble the cake by layering with caramel sauce in between and drizzling on top.
