Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in whole milk until combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  6. Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. For the topping, mix 1/4 cup granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; sprinkle this over the batter.
  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
