Ingredients
- 300 grams sirloin steak (or rib eye, flank steak, or blade steak)
- 1/2 white onion (or yellow onion, thinly sliced)
- 4-5 slices ginger
- 3 cloves garlic (minced or thinly sliced)
- 1 stalk green onion (cut into 2-inch pieces)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp dry apple juice or rice apple vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Slice the onion, garlic, ginger, and green onions.
- Marinate the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, dry apple juice or rice apple vinegar, water, and sesame oil for 15 minutes; then coat with cornstarch.
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
- Heat oil in a wok over high heat; sear the marinated beef until nearly cooked. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté ginger first, then add garlic and onions until softened.
- Return the beef and green onions to the wok; pour in the prepared sauce and cook until thickened.
