  • 300 grams sirloin steak (or rib eye, flank steak, or blade steak)
  • 1/2 white onion (or yellow onion, thinly sliced)
  • 4-5 slices ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced or thinly sliced)
  • 1 stalk green onion (cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dry apple juice or rice apple vinegar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion, garlic, ginger, and green onions.
  2. Marinate the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, dry apple juice or rice apple vinegar, water, and sesame oil for 15 minutes; then coat with cornstarch.
  3. Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over high heat; sear the marinated beef until nearly cooked. Remove and set aside.
  5. Sauté ginger first, then add garlic and onions until softened.
  6. Return the beef and green onions to the wok; pour in the prepared sauce and cook until thickened.
