Instructions
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream, milk, and vanilla until mixed well. Gradually add dry ingredients; mix gently until just combined.
- Chill the Batter: Cover the batter and refrigerate for 30 minutes to overnight.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line muffin pans with liners.
- Prepare Cherries: Wash and chop cherries; fold them into the chilled batter.
- Fill Muffin Liners: Use a cookie scoop to fill each liner with batter; sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake: Bake for about 18 – 22 minutes until golden brown; check doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool: Let muffins cool in the pan for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
