- 1 large egg
- ½ cup whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup cherries, drained and chopped (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the muffins fluffy.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries until evenly distributed.
- Fill each muffin cup with batter and top with a whole cherry and extra chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
