  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (optional), for extra flavor
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta in boiling salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Toss chicken pieces with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned chicken for 6–8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through; keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic. Add flour to create a roux before slowly whisking in milk and heavy cream until smooth.
  5. Stir in cream cheese and cheeses until melted and creamy; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Combine cooked penne and chicken with the sauce; warm together briefly before serving.
