- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 2 large eggs
- 3-4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup butter (for frosting)
- 3-4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2-3 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until creamy. Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla.
- Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt; mix gently until combined. Fold in walnuts.
- Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before frosting with brown butter frosting made by browning butter and mixing with powdered sugar and milk.
